It sounds like Splinter Cell is coming to VR - greervenswithe
Speaking to VRFocus, Ubisoft is looking to recruit a 50 person development team for an unannounced VR envision.
It seems that the venture will exist undertaken in Dusseldorf, Germany, according to a few of the job postings for game designers, technical artists, and programmers World Health Organization specialise in virtual reality games. 'Not whol our positions are on our website yet but we are construction a 50 people team right now for this recent project, focusing right now on the heart and soul team but more positions will follow,' the spokesperson discovered.
Ubisoft Blue Byte is founded in Dusseldorf, and it's possible this new team is a subdivision of that studio. Ubisoft Blue Byte worked on Assassin's Creed Origins VR spinoffs Escape the Lost Great Pyramid and Beyond Medusa's Gate, only this definitely won't be other journeying to the past. 'To be clear, this hot team that we are construction is a different squad than the Lam Room VR team,' the spokesperson processed, and the project will be for a different Ubisoft property.
That really doesn't narrow it down, tending the studio's extensive collection of franchises, but that won't stop us from speculating. Facebook had signed deals with Ubisoft that would bring Assassin's Gospel and Splinter Cell into the Oculus VR portfolio, and in a new interview, CEO Yves Guillemot explicit that Splinter Prison cell has 'unprecedented character of experiences' headed its way. But, he aforementioned that these experiences would occur on 'different devices', which again hints at a VR entry to the sneaky series. Now, a listing for a replica of Sam Fisher's goggles appeared and disappeared on GameStop, and it detailed that 'the 10th release [is] connected the horizon'.
Curiouser and curiouser. Information technology sounds like the project is just beginning to take shape, thus we'll be waiting a while before any official selective information breaks.
