As Viking survival game Valheim edges toward its fourth month of release, during which information technology's accumulated an dumfounding 7 million players, fans are quiet waiting (mostly patiently!) for its first better update. Hearth and Home, as it's called on the Valheim roadmap, testament "focus along the house building panorama of the game, with Thomas More building pieces and stuff to do in and more or less the house," Iron Gate Studios has said.

We got a teensy glimpse of the Hearth and National update end calendar month in the form of an pictur of a wooden raven, and today the developers revealed, somehow, an even teensier wait.

Two images, very just itty-bitty portions of two screenshots, hint at something unweathered coming in Valheim's first major update. What these image fragments show is already being speculated on in the game's busy and curious subreddit and we've got our personal theories likewise. Hither are the images Iron Logic gate posted. Prepare to squint.

The first image shows what looks like the boots of a Viking, peradventure sitting on a throne which may (Beaver State may not) be the Raven Throne already in the halt. Or, As some speculate, information technology could cost the bottom of an armor stand, which would be a fun fashio to display your fresh armor sets around the family. Or maybe it's righteous showing United States roughly new boots (technically some newfound leggings, since boots aren't a separate armor item).

And in the high far left-hand corner of the image, there's something that could be, well, we don't know what. Potatoes? Gold coins or gilded nuggets? Lumps of stiff? It's difficult, if not impossible, to sound out. Whatever of those could be part of the Hearth and Home update: gold for gilding Beaver State crafting ornaments, potatoes for preparation, clay for qualification bricks in the kiln to build with.

As for the second visualize, it looks like a trench dug in the earth, and at the bottom… water? Maybe running water is being added, and Vikings will have proper irrigation for agrarian—if the farming system is getting some changes as well. A new terrain system was recently added, along with a hoe buff (and a hoe nerf), and so new water physics could constitute a theory.

Operating theatre perhaps it's tar, as Tar Pits have been mentioned as something that may be included in the future. Pitch could too be used for building improvements, like sealing wood, which would exist nice for outdoor structures that get warped and degraded when they get wet.

Thither are some small lumps shown in the impinge American Samoa well, which could be the gold nuggets, or the cadaver, surgery something else entirely. "This finale depict will be a pretty astronomical part of the update, with more new items relating to that, can you pretend what it is?" the devs ask.

Guessing is all we prat doh for directly. My personal bet is connected clay as a new resourcefulness that pot be dug up approach water, and current building items like bricks can embody made from it. As for the boots image, I'll put money on some screen out of armor stand. But I really don't know.

Vexing! And sounds like-minded we still may have a patc to wait before we find out. "Instead of rushing it, we want to let it take the time it needs to hand over a state that we'Ra happy with," the developer update says.

Meanwhile, at least you bum entertain yourself by driving approximately in Valheim, since one artful modder added an actual car to the game.

Chris started playing PC games in the 1980s, started writing almost them in the early 2000s, and (finally) started getting paid to write about them in the late 2000s. Following a a couple of years as a regular freelancer, PC Gamer employed him in 2014, probably so he'd stop emailing them interrogatory for more work. Chris has a love-hate relationship with endurance games and an unhealthy enthrallment with the inner lives of NPCs. He's also a buff of offbeat computer simulation games, mods, and ignoring storylines in RPGs so he can micturate up his have.
